He attained great knowledge skill in swordsmanship and withhis tallents he dipatched a dragon in Chiang Huai. This rare collotype potographic print is from the collection of rare Japanese antiques assembled by the noted art collector and industrialist Takashi Masuda ( 1848-1938) in Tokyo. The original masterpiece is by Sesson a 16th century priest of the Seshu school. A paper label is attached to the back of the picture. Collotypes were a high quality photo print and were in use 1870-1920. They allowed for great quality but the processing was very laborious and costly. Presented in original back wooden frame and under glass.

He studied art from a young age and at sixteen was exhibiting his works. His studies were completed in London at the South Kensington School, and by his mid thirties he was a member of the Royal Cambrian Society and the Royal West of England Academy. He is probably best known, though, for his etchings - usually detailed views of buildings He also used the alia "A Simes" on some of his etchings, especially for the more famous churches, palaces and castles.

Set of four engraving Antique Roman Emperor coins in gilt frames after Jegher-Goltzius woodcuts of the 17th century. Mounted under glass and in gilt frame. These are reprints of the original chiarusco woodcut (with brown tone) combined with a line etching, on a verge type hand laid paper. The original print originates from an edition of Hubert Goltzius' 'Icones Imperatorum Romanorum' (this edition is not dated). The first edition of this work was published between 1557 and 1560 in Antwerp by J. Coppens van Diest. Given the appearance of eg. Rudolph II in this edition, some portraits were added after Goltzius' time in later editions. Artists and Engravers: Hubert Goltzius is often credited with etching the portraits. Christoffel Jegher made the woodcuts. Christoffel Jegher (1596-1652/3) was a wood engraver born at Antwerp. He worked for Rubens from 1627 and is probably a pupil of Christoffel van Sichem. Hubert Goltzius (1526-1583) was a Dutch humanist author, antiquarian and numismatist. He was born in Venlo, and studied under Lambert Lombard in Liege and later in Antwerp. He settled in Bruges in 1558 and starts publishing several works on ancient numismatics.
