Description
A pair of Scandinavian beauties
with well shaped legs and upholstered seat.
Although these chairs look like a
pair, they are slightly individual, one with a inlaid Masur Birch back panel ,
the other with string inlay in birch and ebony. the shaped armrests supported on
turned urn supports and raised on taper legs.
Both are fruitwood with inlaid
curved front rail panels and identical upholstered velvel drop in sprung
seats. Well polished and very sturdy, they have been taken apart and reglued
using traditional methods, so no wobbles or loosness in the frames.
Swedish Empire ( English Regency
era) armchairs to grace any Stockholm interior or French Empire, Biedermeier
setting.
Height of seat off floor is 45 cm
The seat rail is stamped by
master cabinet maker in Stockholm. After the Stockholm Chairmakers Guild was
wound up in 1846, the practice of stamping chairs ended.
