Antique French cast gilt bronze inkwell three herrons surround chiselled ormolu Napoleon III marble 1860. The turned finial top is hinged and reveals the ink well inside. This urn shaped vase is surrounded by three well carved and chiselled herron figures with their heads bowed in reverence for the important work of the writer. Mounted on a bronze naturalistic base to a black marble pedestal.
Usually these inkwells have a replacable glass or ceramic insert. There is no insert to this but they are easily acquired online height 35mm x diameter 35mm. The marble base gives firmness and stability to such an important desktop accessory

Bust of an ancient antique Greek Asclepius the god of health and medicine. This bronze is mounted on a square sienna marble plinth with lower bronze molding and mable platform. This antique bust is signed to back by the famous Berlin foundry of H Gladenbeck and son. This fine sculpture dates from around 1890 -1910 and is in superb condition.

From the reign of Charles X (1815-1830) this tall candelabra in the French Empire manner with three well sculpted vine scroll arms and a central candle holder. Each with its original engine turned bobeche wax tray.
A tall central candlestick sconce rises tall above three vine shaped scrolling arms supporting matching candle holders. The supporting column in the Empire manner with ornate scroll acanthus leaves to pedestal base.

Beautifully cast in solid bronze this genuine 1820's candle chandelier has six candle holders and was electrified some time in the mid 20th century in Europe. The 1940's electric globe holders use standard small edison screw globes. As with all hard wired light fittings it will be necessary for your fully licensed Australian electrician to check and certify it is safe when installing it and they may need to update the wiring.

The round baroque fountain shape of the well is surrounded in the by three angels complete with spread wings in the Italian manner and terminate with monopodia feet giving great sturdiness to this practical desk top object.

REAL BRONZE heavy statue of a proud horse in the mannerr of da Vinci. A very similar example is in the Metropolitan museum of Art and sculpted by Giovanni Bologna called Giabologna 1529-1608. It was cast in Italy 1575-1653 in the workshop of Francesco Susini.
This statue available is unmarked , no signature of founrdy stamps. It has a beautiful patina and is a wonderful example of equestrian sculpture. It has an integral cast bronze plinth base with later felt pad below.

A solid bronze cast cauldron shaped large bowl of substantial weight of 3.6kg. The gorgeous shaped bowl with flared base and well rounded upper lid edge. Below this lid is a banding on incised and silver inlaid floral design that joins the double handle lugs on each side. These ligs are applied with hand turned and wrought hand made brass nuts to the inside. No signatured or stamps, consistent with temple or monastery pieces or very high quality. The shape, is an interpretation of the terracotta urns used to ferment suaces or contain wine, whereby the lid was fastened with cord through the handle lugs and a seal of clay , applied around these cords. Sometimes these caulron shapes are used in temples and filled with sand to hold burning incensence taper sticks.

The statue is cast in solid bronze with sculpted and carved details and is raised on a rectangular base raised on four stylised Georgian feet. This bronze is not signed or dated, but thats no unusual for a bronze of the early 20th century like this. There is a small degree of repair to one arm but is hardly noticeable , please view all images. The maiden's head and hands are incised in order to hold the slice of mirror glass. again images are supplied below. German circa 1920. Metropolis is a movie created in the early film period of Germany, when it rivalled Hollywood for creation, technical supremacy and artistry. its the story of love and devotion and the style of this statue is clearly reminiscent of that period as the lady who leads, AMAZONE style, in bronze.
