This is a bespoke made solid french blonde cherrywood late 20th century lamp table made by one of the most reknowned cabinet makers in France. It should not be mistaken for an antique French original despite the attention to details including traditional pegged construction, dove tail joints and antique patinated french polish finish. Tables of these dimensions did not exist in the 18th century hence this unique table was made to suit a modern designer's requirements. Richelieu Art et Meubles stamed to the side of the drawer.

Tables of these proportions did not exist in the 18th century hence these bespoke made tables with their gorgeous hand applied french polish patina meets the interior designer's requirements for modern comfort.

Description Gorgeous apprentice chest of 4 drawers in solid oak raised on carved cabriole legs in the 18th century manner. An apprentice chest was a unique piece of furniture made by the budding cabine maker before he was allowed to become a member of the Guild of cabinet makers. Of Austrian origin, this lovely example combines baroque and rococo elements all executed in solid oak. The gorgeous high quality original gilt bronze handles and escutcheons accentuate the rococo design of this chest. As apprentice pieces were usually of a smaller scale, the maker was examined by the Guild not just in the overall design aesthetics but also the precise ability of the cabinet maker execution with choice of timber type, woodgrain and of course construction techniques. This small chest could easily be scaled up in size and dimensions. Ideal use as a hallway console or even as a bedside cabinet.
Chests of these dimensions did not exist in the 18th century hence this bespoke made 1850's piece in the rococo manner..

A rare pair of antique bedside cabinets from the Biedermeier revival period circa 1910. Beautifully veneered in flame mahogany right round and polished throughout, these cabinets can stand as occasional or lamp tables in the centre of a room. Each door opens with an elegant turned knob : left hinged on one, right on the other cabinet. An elegant arched facade encases an upper compartment and this is surmounted by solid antique green mable tops. Very elegant and extremely useful this pair would date from the early 1900's and are Scandinavian made, most likely Stockholm Sweden. This is a bespoke made late 20th century table. It should not be mistaken for an antique Fench original. Tables of these dimensions did not exist in the 18th century hence this unique table was made to suit a modern designer's requirements. Minor veneer repairs scuffs but in good sturdy condition and good patinated polished finish.
