above a silver spoon rack.
A single drawer below with turned
bronze knob. This drawer is locked by a wooen bar that is easily lifted when
the door is open.

construction used in pre 19th century furniture.

Usually made for the wedding of a farming couple these spice cabinets were a traditional hand made present and were designed to
keep the highly prized spices and silver spoons inherited from previous generations over the centuries safe and secure away from young fingers..
The cupboard would have been hung
from a wall in pride of place. Two original wrought iron hooks still attached one per side.
A single door opens with a steel key and has a floral
painted panel with two furhter panels and matching painted moulding to top.

This Danish original circa 1845
is of the late Biedermeier period which influenced the elegance and design of the Art Deco period of the early 20th century.
These types of cabinets are ideal storage in smaller spaces and are well suited as hallway console table or even as a bedside cabinet.

writing surface measures W 110cm. There is a central recess for handy
lap top storage and in tradition there is a sliding compartment inside the writing surface...but this desk has a secret! The shallow height drawer below the desk top surface is actually not a drawer. It hides a secret compartment above the three large serpentine lower drawers. All drawers open smoothly and have been well serviced. Three original keys for the locks included.
Fabulous original patina finish makes this a very rare piece.

An antique Nordic Art Nouveau
Deco style sideboard or bookcase with Brazilian rosewood and burl alder veneers.
Consisting or a solid set of three architectural doors opening with keys. When
opened these reveal adjustable internal shelves and three shallow top drawers
inside. The fluted pediments to the doors hide the keyholes well. A fielded
panel of rare Alder root veneer is surrounded by Brazilian rosewood contrast and
ashwood mouldings.
At the base of the doors are
three individually carved mask heads of Nordic mythiological design surrounded
by new wheat sheaf growth in stylised scroll form flanking each of the carved
mythological faces.
Quality such as this is very hard to find and is
usually made by noted cabient makers such as Nordiska Kompaniet .

superbly carved coffer or cassone base. The cabinet of architectural form with
knights in full armour as corner pilasters and with carved oak panels.
Each of the three doors carved
with middle ages themes open on hinged brass fittings and brass locks with
working key.
The two door panels open to
shelved spaces flanking the centre panel hinged to the bottom reveals two oak
drawers with brass ring pull handles.
