Antique original heavy solid polished brass chandelier with 6 cast brass scroll arms. Each with cast polished scroll supports and heavy turned brass candle holders. Above these are a further 6 cast brass arms with burnished refectors. Each arm is hollow and may easily be electrified and are screwed into the main frame. The chandelier is currently not electrified and works on candle power for a more romantic mood.
Above the reflectors is a flared crown top with hidden hook. Note the Empire wreaths at top. This is where a chain would hang this from the ceiling p to the ceiling cup.
Originally this would have been attached to a cord and pulley to allow replacement of candles by raising and lowering the chandelier.
The main body of solid brass turned bulbous shape. Baroque examples of this type were usually used in large banquet halls and are very hard to find.

Antique Gustavian Swedish chandelier with gilt bronze frame. The cascading ornate crown with ormolu and with original crystal drops. Crystal chains trail down to a gilt bronze hoop with a second outer hoop from which eminate eight Gustavian candle arms and crystal drops. A lower crystal icicle cascades connects all the hoops and has a central candle sconce with acorn finial in ormolu. This extremely rare example still maintains its original cut glass crystals - a value point. It has not been wired but could easily be adapted for electricity with the lamp hoders placed inside the main hoop so as to refract the electric lighting as with all proper electric conversions Made for original candle power. Very rare antique French gilt bronze Chandelier circa 1850 original gold gilt ormolu 15 candle holders with wax drop trays and cut crystals icicles. The gilt ormolu with extremely high quality casting and chase work all in excellent condition featuring angels and putti with acanthus scrollwork and crowns etc. There are two tiers of candle holder arms in the most amazing intricate scrollwork all joined by a central rod and terninating in a large gilt acorn finial at base.
This extremely rare example still maintains its original gilt finish - a value point. It has been wired previously for electricity but these old clumsy fittings have been removed retunring this light to its former grace and elegance for original candle light. It is very easy to have this chandelier rewired for electric light and I would recommend it be done properly to allow for the candle sconces to be used for wax candles in the traditional manner. The ornate skeleton frame allows for many ways to electrify this with small discretly hidden halogen or LED globes so as not to spoil the magnificance of this rare treasure. Very rare PAIR of Italian neoclassical chandeliers. The antique hand wrought iron and gilt brass a frame is mounted by original eight lead counter weighted candle sconces. The hand cut antique glass crystals appear to be the original and are all of the period, first 1/4 of the 19th century or earlier. The grand scale of these chandeliers is indicative of a high ceiling house of the nobility. The crown is fitted with shaped and embossed "feathers" that emminate from it. Priced as per pair only...shame to split them as they have survived for such a long time together. These genuine antique chandeliers are original candle power. If you want to electrify them they should only ever have the electic lights hidden inside the brass main frame so as not to distract from the original beauty of the chandelier form and retain the ability to use romantic candle lights. The bonus of such a fitting is that all the electric lights will reflect and sparkle through the gorgeous hand cut cystals.
